Role Outline

We are looking to recruit a part-time Insight Manager. This role is focused on allowing us to better understand our audiences and explore their behaviour. The role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement an audience research programme and will be vital in developing a data-driven culture at the Royal Albert Hall.

For 150 years the Royal Albert Hall has been inspiring artists and audiences worldwide; creating life-enriching, unforgettable experiences for everyone. Over 2021-2022 we are celebrating our 150th anniversary with a number of special events and we will shine a light on our past, present and future through our communications strategy.

In a normal year the Hall hosts 400 events in the main auditorium and around 1000 in other smaller spaces. The Hall stands true to its original purpose of promoting the Arts and Sciences and as a charity, we are dedicated to maintaining our Grade I listed building and giving access to all.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Insight Manager is also responsible for working across the Hall (especially the Marketing, Box Office and Business Development Teams) to formulate and deliver insightful data that can assist with decision-making.

With strong analytical training and experience, candidates should have demonstrable experience of working in consumer insights and be confident users of databases and statistical tools, using SQL, SAS, Excel, and the Hall’s CRM systems (Tessitura) to deliver segmentation and analysis. In addition, candidates will have excellent IT skills and the ability to present their results and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders using their strong written and verbal communication skills.

Previous experience of working within a consumer insights, analytical or marketing function in the arts and entertainment, leisure or charity sector is desirable. Candidates should also have an interest in music and/or the performing arts and a passion for the Royal Albert Hall.
