We are seeking to recruit an efficient and capable Rigging Operations Manager within the Production and Technical department. The Rigging Operations Manager will be responsible for the preparation, set-up and operational rigging requirements of every event across the Hall from the Main Auditorium, to ’Beyond the Main Stage’ areas, including the Elgar Room and other spaces within the building.
The Rigging Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining the standards, processes and delivery of all in-house events and productions. This role will be a key figure in the development of in-house rigging services, as well as promoting and providing these services to external customers when required. The Rigging Operations Manager will ensure all rigging equipment is maintained and tested to fulfil statutory requirements, codes of practice and meet appropriate H&S legislation.
A key part of this role will be the management and development of the Production and Technical dept. Rigging Apprentice, as well as supervision of the Hall’s rigging contractors and casual employees.
The ideal candidate will have substantial rigging experience, including at least the National Rigging Certificate Level 2 (and be working towards Level 3), experience of line management, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire and lead a team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of rigging in a venue (or similar environment), including issues relating to Health & Safety & LOLER.
The role will require significant flexibility of working hours to embrace the responsibilities within the department and the services that it provides. Therefore, candidates must have the ability and willingness to work within a roster and the ability to undertake long shifts when required which could be early mornings, late nights, overnight, week days and weekends
