The Royal Albert Hall is recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Archivist (Engagement) to join our Archive team.
The Royal Albert Hall is the home of breathtaking moments and lasting memories, for everyone. Now is an exciting time to be joining us, following a major investment in a new purpose designed, environmentally controlled and publicly accessible archive facility within the Hall. Working closely with the Senior Archivist (Digital), you will have the unique opportunity to shape an archive for the future, which is open to all and a best practice leader in the sector. This role will have a specific focus on the Hall’s Archive Engagement Strategy by developing, embedding and managing archive engagement initiatives which open-up the Hall’s history to new and diverse audiences. Additionally, the role will help manage the archive to professional standards and deliver the archive’s strategic priorities for the next decade.
We are looking for a strong communicator and a confident, proactive team player, with experience of implementing successful Engagement programmes. Applicants will be qualified with a post-graduate degree in Archive management (or equivalent) and have knowledge of current professional standards. Experience of developing archive policy and procedures, and using cataloguing software is essential.
