The role

We are seeking to recruit a confident and proactive part-time Duty Manager to undertake a minimum of 10 Duty Management shifts per month, leading a team of staff to ensure we deliver high quality service to the Hall’s customers and event promoters.  The Hall hosts events 7 days per week and for this role, shifts will predominantly be rostered on Saturdays and Sundays, and therefore good availability for weekend shifts is essential. Duty Managers act as the nominated representative of the Hall, having ultimate responsibility for the safety of the public and coordinating any potential evacuations.  They also ensure that the standard of service offered to all our visitors is of the highest quality so that collectively we can inspire artists and audiences worldwide with the magic of the iconic Royal Albert Hall.

The person

With responsibility for the safety and comfort of up to 6000 people, excellent customer service skills and sound knowledge of health and safety practices are essential. The ideal candidate will have previous duty management and / or supervisory experience in a fast-paced public-facing venue, and will have the gravitas and credibility to inspire confidence in others and make informed and significant event-related decisions.
