Role Outline

The Royal Albert Hall is recruiting crew to join our Production and Technical team.

Integral to the building is the Production and Technical department who are responsible for the preparation, set-up, and operational requirements of every event across the Hall from the Main Auditorium, to Beyond the Main Stage areas including the Elgar Room and other spaces within the building.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced working in events, working at similar venues or other fast paced environments.

To assist the Production and Technical Department in the set up and running of events by:

  • Heavy manual handling of staging and general items.
  • Setting out orchestra layouts.
  • Arranging arena seating configurations.
  • Assistance with load-ins and loadouts.
  • Painting and cleaning as required.
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Venue Technician, Technical Show Manger, Event Manager, Crew Chief or Duty Manager.

This role is a 0-hour contract. 99% of our work occurs overnight into early mornings and long hour shifts.

  • Physically fit enough to be able to undertake the required duties and to work the roster of unusual hours.
  • The ability and willingness to work early mornings, late nights, overnights, weekdays, and weekends are essential.
  • You need to be self-motivated, able to understand instructions and act on them quickly and efficiently, be a good team worker and be able to act on your own initiative when required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An understanding and appreciation of theatres, staging or similar work within a team-working scenario is helpful.
