Role Outline

The Royal Albert Hall is recruiting casual crew to join our Production and Technical team.

Integral to the daily operation of the building is the Production and Technical department who are responsible for the preparation, set-up, and operational requirements of every event across the Hall from the Main Auditorium, to the Beyond the Main Stage and Engagement areas including the Elgar Room and other spaces within the building.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced working in events, working at similar venues or other fast paced environments.

As a key member of the Production and Technical Department, you will assist in the setup and operation of events by:

  • Handling heavy staging and general equipment.
  • Setting up orchestra layouts.
  • Organising arena seating configurations.
  • Supporting load-ins and loadouts.
  • Performing painting and cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Stage Team, Event Managers, or Crew Chiefs.

This role is a 0-hour contract, and most shifts will involve regular overnight work but can also consist of early mornings, late nights, and long hours.

Person Specification

  • Physically fit and able to perform the required duties, including working irregular hours.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety protocols, with the ability to follow all processes and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, overnight shifts, weekdays, and weekends is essential.
  • Self-motivated, able to quickly understand and act on instructions, work well within a team, and take initiative when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A basic understanding of theatre, staging, or similar team-based work is advantageous.
