The Royal Albert Hall is recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Programming Coordinator to join our Royal Albert Hall Presents team.
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the world’s most iconic entertainment venues, with an unrivalled history of events and performances by world-class artists. We pride ourselves on being the home of breathtaking moments and lasting memories, for everyone.
The Programming Department is responsible for securing and programming the diverse range events held at the Hall each year. Within that department the Royal Albert Hall Presents team is responsible for producing over 80 in-house promotions at the Hall each year, including several projects which then go on to tour around the world. The Royal Albert Hall Presents program includes our Christmas at the Hall season, as well as all of our Film in Concert productions and a range of other exciting one off projects including our work with our Associate Artists.
As Programming Coordinator, you will assist the Senior Programming Manager and Producers in planning and delivering events, coordinating administrative processes particularly our touring productions, working on contracts, fees, invoicing, and engaging freelance creatives. You will manage event schedules, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and act as artist liaison during performances, working backstage as required. The role also involves supporting budgeting and ticketing processes, maintaining accurate records in Artifax and other systems, and contributing to new programming initiatives to optimise income opportunities.
To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in organising live events and coordinating complex activities, alongside strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook. You should be able to manage multiple priorities under pressure and have experience working with artists, agents, promoters, and orchestras, as well as knowledge of contract administration. A degree or equivalent experience in the arts is desirable, along with knowledge of a number of music genres and other art forms.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, flexible, and passionate about the arts and live events, who is self-motivated and able to work independently. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends when events are taking place.
